Preserving Paradise: The Creation of Nopoló Park
We were fortunate enough to be part of a coordinated project collaborating on an anti-mining campaign in Baja Sur, Mexico. Resulting in the creation of a 16,990-acre reserve, encompassing the pristine Sierra de la Giganta mountains and coastal regions.

Nestled on the remote Baja Peninsula in Mexico, Loreto stands as a small coastal town overlooking the Sea of Cortés.
Mining concessions loom as a threat, endangering water resources and economic activities. To safeguard Loreto's natural beauty and hydrological significance, the establishment of The Nopoló Park and Loreto II Reserves becomes imperative. These reserves protect freshwater sources and prevent unsustainable development.
Documenting Loreto's unique landscape through photography and video formed part of a concerted campaign to sway government officials towards preservation, as well as support fundraising events.
Thanks to community efforts and partnerships with The Ocean Foundation, Loreto is transitioning into a sustainable outdoor destination. This transition is exemplified by the successful petition to transfer of 16,990-acres of land for federal protection.
Today, we celebrate the formal establishment of Nopoló Park and Loreto II, these reserves ensure perpetual enjoyment and conservation of Loreto's coastal and mountainous landscapes.
